Marina de Praia - Praiano, Italy
May 22 – Today is a lay low day, as both Diana and I aren’t feeling well. I made a trip into Positano on the bus to get some medicine for her. That took 3 hours. When I got back she was sleeping and I worked on the computer catching up on some of the goings on. When she woke up she said she’d like some Gatorade but was going to have an Atkins’ Bar for lunch. I walked down the hill to a restaurant, had a bite to eat, and then continued down to the beach, Marina de Praia, across the bay from the hotel
(above). I thought they might have a snack bar at the beach. Sure enough they did and he had, of all things, Gatorade, both lime and orange. I bought a bottle of each and walked back up to the hotel. It was tiring but not really all that bad. We just lounged around the hotel until dinner.
Is anyone a bigger fan of the simple dish Caprese
(below) than I am? I don’t think so! Fresh buffalo mozzarella, ripe tomato, chopped fresh basil, good balsamic vinegar and flavorful olive oil, it’s just delicious.
Dinner was great again. Rats, no camera. I had home made pasta with seafood, followed by poached grouper filet with olives and mushrooms and a mixed salad. The pasta was fantastic with a creamy texture; very light taste, and the perfect chew. The seafood was mussels, clams and prawns sautéed in olive oil and then tossed with the pasta. Yikes!! The desert was custard like, a flan shaped concoction with raspberry sauce. I think it was one of the Italian sweet cheeses. I forgot to ask. All followed up with a small limoncello.
